Our annual Kanji elective course has officially wrapped up, and to celebrate the students’ hard work and progress, we hosted a special, artistic project in one of our final classes.

Throughout the semester, students dedicated themselves to learning hundreds of kanji—mastering readings, meanings, radicals, and stroke order. To mark the end of their journey, this creative activity gave them the chance to showcase their growing kanji skills in a fun and personal way, using shishiki illustration boards.

Each student selected kanji that matched the sounds of their names and decorated their shikishi boards with characters that held personal meaning to them. With stickers, colorful artwork, and their own designs, students transformed their creations into beautiful keepsakes representing both their learning and individuality.

It was the perfect way to celebrate the end of an impactful kanji course.
