This month, we proudly celebrated the 10th anniversary of the establishment of Meko Japanese Language School! After a decade in Tokyo, we have grown into a vibrant, international community across four campuses. This ten-year milestone was the perfect opportunity to reflect on how far we’ve come.

Our anniversary dinner brought together more than 150 guests, including teachers, staff, as well as current and graduated students from our various campuses. Some of our students had the chance to serve as the evening’s speakers while another one of our students gave a wonderful live singing performance. Adding to the excitement, one of our teachers also performed live while his self-made Meko Education music video played in the background. Other students from our other Shinjuku campuses showcased traditional songs and dances from their home countries.

Everyone enjoyed a delicious meal together, and it was a wonderful chance for students to chat with teachers outside of class and make new friends across campuses.

During the event, Meko presented a special award, the 長年ありがとうaward, to teachers who have been with us since the beginning, recognizing their dedication and contribution to our growth. The awards were presented by our principal, Shiba-sensei, who thanked not only our awarded teachers but also all the teachers and staff for their hard work, passion, and support over the past decade.

We also recognized our incredible student participants — each of our student speakers and singer received a Student Contribution Award Certificate along with ¥5,000 as a token of appreciation for their time and effort. 

This celebration was a true reminder of what makes Meko special—our shared commitment to education, community, and student success. Here’s to the next ten years of learning, growth, and connection at Meko Education!
