As summer continues onward, we’re excited to celebrate the successful completion of Session 1 of our annual partnership with CIEE!

Over the course of three weeks, Meko welcomed over 130 high school students and staff across five classes, giving them the opportunity to experience Japanese language and culture while exploring Tokyo.

In addition to their Japanese lessons, students also visited our sister school, Anime Artist Academy, where they put their creativity to the test through character drawing and voice acting workshops.

With only a short time in Japan, our classes focused on helping students make the most of their experience in Tokyo. From survival Japanese and everyday expressions to navigating emergency situations, students gained practical language skills they could immediately use during their stay.

To round out the program, students also enjoyed wearing yukata as they took to the streets of Shinjuku, creating lasting memories while experiencing another aspect of Japanese culture.

We’re looking forward to welcoming Session 2 in just a couple weeks and are excited to continue supporting another group of students as they begin their own learning journeys in Japan.
