This week marks the first day of our annual Kanji elective course—an exciting milestone as the new academic year picks up speed. Our Kanji course is held twice per week and is open to all students who want additional support in mastering kanji, deepening their understanding of written Japanese, and developing their vocabulary.

By the end of the year, students will learn 500 essential kanji, thousands of vocabulary words in which these kanji appear, and develop a systematic understanding of radicals and proper stroke order. The course is conducted entirely in Japanese, creating a full immersion environment where students are encouraged to read aloud, ask questions, and communicate openly with the instructor and classmates.

Attending our Kanji classes is a deeply rewarding experience, giving students the chance to build a strong foundation in reading and writing while developing a meaningful appreciation for the impact of kanji in everyday life.
