At Meko, all students are placed into either a Higher Education Track or an Employment Track at the time of enrollment, based on their future goals. This allows us to support each student’s direction from the very beginning of their studies.
As part of this commitment, we have recently updated our curriculum to include elective courses designed for students pursuing higher education or long-term employment in Japan. As students advance in level, they are then able to take elective courses that align directly with their chosen track.

The Higher Education elective focuses on preparation for admission to Japanese universities and colleges. Students receive targeted instruction for the Examination for Japanese University Admission (EJU), along with support for admissions interviews and the development of academic Japanese skills needed for success in higher education.
The Employment elective is designed for students aiming to work in Japan after graduation. This course emphasizes Japanese workplace culture, professional communication, and job-hunting strategies, helping students build the skills necessary to secure full-time employment in Japan.

Students at the N5–N4 levels focus on building strong foundational Japanese proficiency, with additional support for kanji learning along the way. Once students reach N3, they begin taking their selected elective course once per week, while continuing their regular classes focused on intermediate to advanced Japanese proficiency and JLPT preparation from N3 through N1.

With classes available at all levels, this structured approach ensures consistent, goal-oriented guidance for every student, from the moment they enroll until they achieve their academic or professional goals in Japan.
